A grey she-cats golden orbs shone just barley in the dim lighting of the bramble den. She bristled at any approaching cats, turning her back to them to shudder alone in the darkness. She didn't need any comforting, she didn't want any, and she didn't deserve any... Her ears flicked as the sound of a fur-covered body dragging across the ground found its way through the walls. If cats could cry, surely she would've spilled a river by now. Raventhistle...
How much Sootfeather wished she had not found her friend earlier that day. The large brown tabby she-cat had been slowly trudging towards her. White foam-like liquid dripping poisonously between sharp teeth. Sootfeather had almost collapsed from shock at seeing her friend. Natural instinct took over her legs however and the warrior took a step back from her friend. The brown tabby's blue eyes flicked acknowledging, a grin just barley flashed on her face. She let the bottom of her jaw drop farther, red berries spilled from their toothy cage and onto the floor.
"Join me..." Raventhistle whispered slurring as though a drunkard would.
"You ate them?" Sootfeather yelped, her pelt exploded in a electric frenzy. Suicide? Raventhistle?!
"... It's better this way." The larger cat laughed, her icy blue eyes found its way back down the scarlet berries. She flicked some at Sootfeather with a large paw. "Escape with me Sootfeather. This world is not where we belong."
"You think I'm going to follow you to Starclan? I will do no such thing Raventhistle." Sootfeather hissed.
The she-cat in front of her looked stung. She had not been expecting this answer from a cat she had been inseparable from since kittenhood. "Why?" The words were hard to force from her mouth, everything was numb, her tongue barley above useless. No no no no no! This was not the plan! She didn't want to die alone! A idea sparked in the suicidal cats mind to simply force her friend to eat the death berries, but she merely collapsed to the ground as her legs jellied. She stared up at the grey she-cat pleadingly.
"Don't... Let... Die... Alone...!" Raventhistle gasped, blackness tainted her vividly colored vision. Like a cancer, it seeped from the bottom of her eye and reached for the top. Her body shook uncontrollably, seizures. Death. Death death death, alone alone alone.
What hurt the most were the eyes of her friend. The lustrous golden orbs bore down on her with... Pity? Sadness? No, hatred. The grey warrior could barley contain her snarl.
"You gave up." The she-cat growled. "Gave up on me, gave up on life, gave up on the clan. You were this disturbed and you hadn't even bothered to talk to me about it? You ignored me for moons Raventhistle!"
Raventhistle wished she could argue but her tongue wouldn't move, she couldn't even raise a hair in protest. Raventhistle gasped, the darkness had finally reached the end of ts journey. A hiccup exploded from Sootfeather, her frame was being raked with shivering. "Why Raventhistle?" The she-cat whined. The slight drizzle of rain increased slightly. In the right light it would look as though the grey she-cat was indeed, crying. Large silver droplets washed off Sootfeathers whiskers and fell to Raventhistles face. "Why...?!"
